TREE SURGERY
| Removal of dead, dying and dangerous trees
|
Trees that have become infected are a safety risk. Dead, dying and dangerous trees are not always easy to identify and if not safely removed the result can be damage to people and property. The utmost care is taken during removal and we are experts at working in confined spaces. |
|
Reduction, thinning and pruning
Crown reduction, before...and after
|
Pruning trees when young may reduce the need for major pruning in middle
age and maturity. Pruning may also enhance fruit production/flowering.
Reduction -The natural shape of the tree is retained whilst making the overall canopy smaller, enabling more light and resulting in spaces appearing larger. Thinning -removal of smaller branches from inside tree crown increasing light without effecting the overall size. |
|
Felling |
Reasons for felling might be for legal and insurance requirements (such as in cases of subsidence) or to promote light for other trees/ buildings. We are able to carefully dismantle large and small trees in a controlled manner. |

It is generally beneficial to have tree stumps removed or destroyed. This will allow the site to be reinstated and reduce the risk of honey fungus (Armillaria) and other root diseases which could subsequently infest other plants growing on the site. A depth of 8inches is normally recommended for stump removal but is dependent on circumstances. |
| Surveying | Cataloguing of tree population (normally on larger sites) to determine health and safety of the trees and their environment. |
| Planting | To replace a tree that has been removed or generally increase the number of trees in your garden. Trees can be planted at varying levels of maturity to meet your requirements |
| Cleaning out | The removal of dead dying and diseased wood from within the tree; stumps of broken branches, unwanted epicormic shoots and climbing plants. |
